My Comments: √ Watched it many times, including on 03-19-2023 at our place in Niagara, and again on 05-04-2024, (PS, HS). One of our all time favorite classics (in our top 3 or 4); and perhaps in the TOP TWO of Fred and Ginger movies. A cute musical romance in that 1930’s style. A well-crafted classic that just feels right from one end to the other. The misunderstanding of who Fred’s character really is brings about a lot of entertainment. Fred and Ginger have amazing chemistry in this film and their dancing together is sublime. Enjoyment rating: 4.5 star.
√ Watched it 03-18-2023 at our place in Niagara (PS, HS). Excellent interaction between the film’s 3 main characters (Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, and Ronald Colman). It’s an excellent commentary on the interplay on law, morality, and common sense in society. There’s romance brewing, but you can’t tell right away who’s going to get the girl. A wonderful classic.
Watched It On: 03-04-2023 at A&C’s place. Truly a beautiful classic romance. Excellent chemistry between Ronald Colman and Greer Garson. Heart wrenching. Thankfully a happy ending.

Watched at Ash’s house in two parts. First half on Easter Sunday, then finished it 04/23/2022.
My Comments: We try to watch this movie every Easter. This is a classic movie in every sense of the word. Starring Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Peter Lawford and Ann Miller. Directed by Charles Walters (known for The Unsinkable Molly Brown, 1964; and Ask Any Girl, 1959). Screenplay by Sidney Sheldon. The music is by Irving Berlin (See Britannica and his official site) and includes the songs “Easter Parade”, “Steppin’ Out with My Baby”, and “We’re a Couple of Swells.”
This is a feel good musical that isn’t so crazy full of musical numbers that you want to run for the hills. Most of them fit in quite naturally. There are two songs we usually fast-forward through because they’re a bit monotonous. Overall, the story is loveable. Each of the four main characters are well cast and do an excellent job as actors. In conclusion: the flick has a cute story, excellent cast, and gorgeous costumes! I must also mention Jules Munshin in his funny bit showing how he makes his “salade francois” – caesar salad. Toss toss, mix mix. Pure delight!
Jules Munshin as the waiter
Trivia: Gene Kelly was first set to play Don, but he broke his ankle when he kicked his foot in anger after losing a volleyball game. He suggested Fred Astaire as his replacement. Cyd Charisse was to play the role of Nadine, but she had to drop out due to a torn ligament. Ann Miller was her replacement. Judy Garland had never met Astaire, and while she was a major star, she was still very shy about speaking with him until they were formally introduced.
I give Easter Parade 4.5 stars for watching pleasure and a perfect Clean5 morality rating.

My Comments: This is a well acted, inspirational film based on a true story. Both you and your kids will stay engaged. It’s not boring. It’s a worthwhile and moving film. ENJOYMENT RATING: I give it 3.5 stars. Common Sense Review: Checkmark for Age 12+
My Comments: Perfectly clean, but of course there are brutal scenes of Jesus’ torture and crucifixion. Movies can never fully measure up when depicting bible characters, but this is quite a good representation of the life of Christ. Perhaps a bit too rushed. Would have wanted to see more miracles, and less conflict between Jesus and the religious authorities to balance it when comparing to the gospels. This movie is a subsection of the larger movie called The Bible, an award winning, commercial success. It is clear that this movie was lovingly made by people of faith. It is well worth watching. ENJOYMENT RATING: I give it 3.5 stars plus.
Dove Review: Told with the scope and scale of an action epic, the film features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and a rich orchestral score from Oscar®- winner Hans Zimmer. Award-winning actor Diogo Morgado portrays Jesus as the film spans from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection. The movie is action-packed with special effects, powerful acting, and beautiful cinematography. It marks the first major motion picture about Jesus’ life since Passion of the Christ, released ten years before.
The best on-screen biblical account of the life of Jesus!
“Son of God” is lovingly made from start to finish. It is a warm and moving picture of the life of Jesus from the beginning to the resurrection. Producer Mark Burnett said they could not possibly film everything that happened in the gospels, so he selected certain highlights that conveyed the character and nature of Jesus as the true Son of God. This film is filled with compelling cinematography and closeups that draw the audience right into the midst of each scene.
I found myself spiritually stirred as I watched this movie. The brutality of the crucifixion reminded me of what Christ willingly endured to redeem the lost. It renewed me. This is a movie with a message. We recommend “Son of God” and award it our Faith Based Seal.

My Comments: Very clean, no issues, except a bit of language. Excellent movie. Exciting. ENJOYMENT RATING: I give it 5 stars. Dove Review: This much-awaited origin story is successful in its empowering, inclusive, boundary-breaking mission. Captain Marvel–Carol Danvers in her “real life”–is clearly the most powerful Marvel hero. When we left Avengers: Infinity War, in the devastating finale of that film Nick Fury sends the distress message to Captain Marvel and our hearts were set a-flutter. Captain Marvel is Dove-Approved for Ages 12+.
